This is one discount offer that is in poor taste. Diva Maharashtracha, a Marathi eatery, has been dishing out handsome discounts to its patrons - but only if they are Maharashtrians or at least, speak Marathi.

hi! Radhika. I have been to their Goa Portuguese restaurant couple of times and really liked the food there. I have also met the owner who is one character to say the list.
If you notice, they are anyways too eager to give away 50% discounts on weekday lunches. For example you will find their discount offer in almost all discount coupon booklet that you get (like with mobile phones, credit cards etc)... so I guess this is just one more excuse they have found to give discount plus thanks for Mr Raj, they will get free publicity too.

Manish, the couple has offered an unconditional apology in the newspapers for offending the sentiments of people.
The best part is that the gimmick has backfired miserably.
The food is also pretty sad at Diva

oh, the food at Diva is not good? We had wanted to try their ”authentic” Marathi food and had gone there once but it was too full and waiting was over an hour...Don’t know any other place, which serves complete Marathi cuisines.

if u r looking for Gomantak or mahrashtian thali then Sindadurg two lanes behind Sena Bhavan is very good
Dadar is the right place to sample the food and if u r really interested I’ll get u the number for this service that gives u take away Maharashtrian food that is really yummy and 1/4 th Diva’s rates

Radhika, my office used to be in Dadar west near station and I have been to quite a few Maharashtrian eateries there. btw, love Piyush and sabudana wada of Prakash :)
Not really eager to eat Maharashtrian fare, just that we (wife and myself) love trying out different cuisines and thought of trying Diva. Will bother you for the number if we decide to try the take away thanks! :)

Discriminating on region, language, caste, sex, etc. is unfair and illegal trade practice.

I hope people are listening to what you say Mr. Balam.
Deaf ears and Dumb mouths (politicians and law makers in short) are on a siesta these days.

These are just social wannabes who want to get in to the limelight with however lame an excuse. Just like Raj Thakrey.

The already exhausted Mumbaikar, who is too busy with work, Virar local, etc. is in no mood to sit down and mull upon the discounts offered by Diva M.... The owner, a psychiatrist, by qualification, is only helping people like Raj Thackeray indirectly to damage the cosmopolitan fabric of Mumbai.
